State Travel Plans

Here are the wrestlers who have responded to the survey:

Those already listed as “definitely coming":  Danielle Rue,  Rachael Helt,  Lorreli Fischer,  Claire Wierschke, Taylor Johnson, Jonah Babinec, Michael Potisk, Jacob Hansen, Jordan Yakich, Ben Schimanski, Max Schilling, Jack Schilling

Probably: Tyler Karpinski

Right now that puts us at capacity for the van; however, Max & Jack indicated they could drive separately if needed to to make more room.

Currently, I'd guess that would put us at $45 per wrestler per night to cover hotel and offset transportation costs. We'll leave Friday morning and stay for sure on Friday night and likely Saturday night, too.

If anyone else would like to travel with the team or share in hotel costs, please let me know as soon as possible!

Congratulations Lucas & Jack!

Congratulations to sectional champion Lucas Schevikhoven!  Congratulations also to Jack Schilling for closing out a great season by going 1-2 with 1 pin.

Equipment Inventory

According to our managers' records, the following still need to hand in equipment.

Headgear- Tyler Karpinski, Caleb Strehlow, Alex Vega, Vincent Yang, Donville James, Jonah Babinec and Nick Sheming (If you are still practicing and using headgear, you can hang on to it still.

Pants- Vincent Yang, Lucas Schevikoven, Noah Weitkuhn and Ben Schimanski

Jackets- Lucas Schevikoven, Vincent Yang, Carter Lowman. Maybe Alex Zimmerman? Not sure.

Singlets- All are returned

Possible State Travel Plans 2018

If Lucas and/or Jack qualifies for state, we will have the opportunity to go to Madison as a team to support them.  Just so you can start thinking about it, here is what would happen:
- state qualifiers would have hotel room and meal expenses provided.
- managers would have hotel room and most meal expenses provided.
- any wrestlers who want to come along would have to cover most of their own expenses.  We have hotel rooms for 4-6, so the shared cost would be about $40-$70 per night. Depending on how we end up on the bracket, we may stay Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday nights.  Breakfast is provided at the hotel, but wrestlers would be responsible for their own meal expenses besides that.  They would also be responsible for their admission tickets to each session, about $8 each, but we do not necessarily wrestle in all 5.
- depending on schedule, we would leave in the afternoon on Thursday or Friday morning, and come back on Saturday or Sunday morning, depending on how we do.

- We currently have rooms at the Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham Madison Fitchburg.    Obviously, we need to see what happens at sectionals, but I would like to have an idea of how many want to come as soon as possible after that; that's why I'm giving info early so you can think about it.

- We also have the opportunity to get admission for one school photographer.  If you would like to apply for that role, please let me know as soon as possible.

Please use the survey previously sent out to indicate your interest in coming.

2018 Pacer Premier Wrestling Tournament (Feb. 3) Sign-Up List

Dear wrestling parents, alumni, and alumni parents:
Our annual Pacer Premier tournament is coming fast, and we are once again looking for volunteers to help make it a success. In past years, a lot of coaches have said that this is a great tournament, and that has everything to do with our volunteers!!
Lori Schevikhoven has volunteered to coordinate volunteer efforts, so watch for updates from her. In the meantime, here is the volunteer sheet she prepared. It also lists our volunteers from last year, so if you want to do the same thing as last year, you can just fill in the same spot. Or, feel free to put your name down in another slot. Or, if the Google sheet doesn't work for you, feel free to email me or Lori and we'll put you where you want to be. Let either one of us know if you have questions, and thanks in advance for considering how you can help.

Parent / Coach Resources

Here are some resources for parents of athletes to help them "keep the fun" in sports as they compete.  There are a number of free resources available on the web site.  I've looked at a few of them, and they seem worthwhile and fit in with our program's goal of promoting the overall welfare and development of the athlete.  Enjoy!
